WHICH CLASS SHOULD I CHOSE?
"I've never done AntiGravity Aerial Yoga before. Which class is suitable for me?
All the classes on the timetable are suitable for all levels including beginners.
Aerial Yoga is a general AntiGravity class including a sequence of poses and moves, performed with the AntiGravity Hammock that will build strength and flexibility and balance body and mind
There are a few different styles that make the classes more or less challenging in terms of strength and fitness level, however all the programs are easily accessible to all levels and ages as plenty of variations and options are given to make the practice suitable for individual needs. It really depends on individual choice.
Please wear a sleeved shirt that covers the armpits and leggings or yoga trousers that cover your knees.
Wear form-fitting clothing. Please do not wear baggy clothing as they can snag and catch on the sling’s fabric causing accidents.
Ensure that your clothing is "zipper free" and remove all jewellery (body piercings, watches and hair clips. These items can snag and damage the silk hammocks.

Aerial Yoga - RESTORATIVE

AntiGravity® Restorative Yoga is the gentle, meditative, slow stretching and rehabilitative version of AntiGravity Aerial Yoga. This approach is perfect for those with a lower fitness level, or those who just like an approach that gives you time to tune in at a deep level
Aerial Conditioning and Flexibility
A routine designed to condition the upper body, core and legs, gradually open up the body and safely progress into deeper stretches.
After the appropriate warm up you will effortlessly ease into the stretches yet remaining in control to push as far as you feel comfortable depending on how your body is feeling at the time. Expect hammock supported pull ups, planks, handstands, back bends, side and front splits.
Using the hammocks to work with the gravity force allows us to effectively decompress the joints and deeply stretch the muscle
Conscious slow breathing facilitates the release of tension and stress, which prevents our body from expressing its natural flexibility; this allows you to achieve a broader range of yoga poses much sooner than with a conventional floor mat, so you progress faster.

POWER FLOW YOGA is a challenging style of Vinyasa Yoga, dictated by powerful ujjayi breathing that creates flowing interconnected movement, in a style that is designed to challenge the resistance of the mind and to push beyond fear. The mentally and physically challenging sequence of flowing postures, combines a cleansing vinyasa flow practice with bandhas, mudras and breathwork.
An upbeat yoga class where you will link postures together to improve flexibility, strength and mobility.
SLOW FLOW YOGA is a calming and soothing Vinyasa flow, practiced in dimmed lights and with the sound of slow beats music to help you focus and wind down, strech, relax and refresh. A perfect way to end the day and get rid of physical and mental tension built up during the day. We guarantee that after this class you will be sleeping like a baby!
ROCK 'N ROLLERS YOGA™
Deep yoga stretching, conditioning and myofascial release using foam rollers
Fear not! This is not yoga performed on Rock 'n Roll music!
Rock 'n Rollers™ Yoga is a powerful vinyasa flow yoga class, practiced with the aid of foam rollers (hence the name!) to maximise alignment and support, whilst encouraging stretching and improve posture, developing upper body and core strength and stabilisation in a series of dynamic and flowing movements.
Through fascial and myofascial release techniques, you will learn a method for gaining mobility and flexibility beyond what you think possible. This is a safe and scientifically proven technique that can be applied to any kind of activities
The roller is incredibly effective to deeply massaging the muscles and stretching the fascias too, increasing circulation to all the muscles cells, draining the lymph and help relieve pain and fatigue due to lactic acid in the tissue.
Strengthen, lengthen and relax in this class, while learning more about your body from the inside out!
So, are you a Yoga Rock 'n Roller?
Unlike other forms of yoga, AcroYoga builds on the potential to connect with others, to build on community and cultivate trust within an environment of safe play.
This practice involves three active roles:
- the spotter, who serves as an interpreter between the base and flyer and aid the stability and success of a skill or flying sequence;
- the base, who is the pillar for which skills are conducted;
- the flyer, who is either the performer or the receiver of therapeutic flying.
AcroYoga combines both dynamic and therapeutic sequences that range from massage and therapy, to performance acrobatics and dance. Practitioners can follow set flows to the point they become familiar with the practice and can then work on improvisation.
Creative Movement is a specialised technique that incorporates elements of contemporary dance, contact improvisation, yoga and acrobatic techniques as well as acro dance. We will start the class with an invigorating Vinyasa flow sequence to warm up, utilising techniques that use breath to focus and alignment to create lightness in the body; we will then go through a series of exercises working individually and in pairs to build up the strength and techniques to gain the confidence of balancing upside-down, lift to invert, base and fly. Finally we will put everything together in a "Creative Movement" choreography that will build up on a four weeks time.
Come and learn essential circus and acrobatic techniques as dropbacks, kickovers, handstands and forearm balances, contortion techniques and acrobalance, as well as aerial conditioning and moves on the aerial hoop, silks, gymnastics rings and aerial yoga hammocks.
No matter what your skill level is, you will benefit tremendously from the foundational, strength building principles behind this techniques.
We will work on core and upper body strength, as well as flexibility, gradually progressing into deeper back bends, side and frontal splits.
At the end of the course you will have learned the basic foundation techniques of hand balancing, aerial silks and hoop, acro-balance and contortion.
This course is very practical.
The course will include:
• Basic techniques to inversions: various hand balancing including handstand.
• Basics of contortion: how to backbend safely, and develop flexibility in the shoulders, back and hips, front and side splits
• Transitions across the floor to work with momentum and coordination
• Aerial conditioning, deep stretching and tricks on the silks, gymnastics rings and aerial yoga hammocks
• Creating flow of movement, letting go of fear by practicing safe transitions - i.e. from handstands/forearm balances to back bends and kickovers.
• Dropbacks, kickovers, standing splits, acro-balance techniques and choreography.
• Acrobalance: partner acrobatics techniques and choreography
The Yin yoga practice invites us to explore inner landscapes with a quality of self-reflection, accepting and accommodating that which arises free of judgment or attachment - with equanimity. We learn to pay attention to what is, as it is - with an attitude of kindness. As we come into this final month of the year, it is good to be reminded - that life is precious. To truly recognise the preciousness of this human body requires a real effort to slow down; especially in a busy city like London where there is so much speed and so much sound.
Valentins studied Yin Yoga under the guidance of Norman Blair who has been teaching yoga since 2001 and is one of the leading Yin yoga teachers in this country.
